The process of filming.

This is the brick wall in which Fatiat's ( our actress) character will be waiting to buy drugs off a drug dealer. I thought this would be a good place to do this scene because there's not a lot of activity in this area and it looks like a dodgy, isolated place where there's not a lot of people to see her buy the drugs. Obviously this would me more realistic than a crowded high street.

These are pictures of the surroundings to show how quiet and deserted the area is. This was not only relevant for the actual scene, but it was useful for us because we didn't have any interruptions.

This is another brick wall which our character buys another batch of drugs from a different drug dealer. Both scenes are infront of brick walls because for some reason, there is something dodgy about brick walls.

We were going to shoot a scene here but decided against it

This is a map to the park which was useful for us.

These were the souroundings of the area of the park in which we filmed in. As you can see it wasn't busy at all.

This is the pathway where we filmed the girl walking.

We wanted to shoot a drug related scene in this

These are pictures of us filming a particular scene. It looked like a fairly simple shoot but it took us quite a while to get the right angle and shots we wanted.

This is one of the shelters we used for one of our sequences

Here is our shooting schedule:

update on the editing

So far we have finished editing most of the important parts of our music video, however, we still have a few gaps to fill (the chorus). Instead of using actual video footage for the chorus parts, we're going to use word effects i.e. ' All of The Lights', but we'll see.

Finding our actors
Finding our actors wasn't very difficult at all, however, we had to keep in mind to get actors who not only fitted the characters/role but were also willing to volunteer for us. In the end decided to use students from our school because it was a lot easier and convenient. At some point, during the first few weeks of starting our filming, Bunmi (who is no longer part of this group), shot an argument between a heterosexual couple. Unfortunately, the setting/shots used didn't fit well into our video so we decided to cut it out.

For the first part of the video, we decided to pick Fatiat to play the character because we had to get someone who was willing to step out of their comfort zone and go crazy on camera. For the middle chunk of our video we used Makeda and Daniel to play a troubled couple. I think we made a good decision for picking them because I personally thought their phone argument was very convincing. And lastly, we decided to get two girls from our school to play a lesbian couple, instead of a heterosexual couple. Also, this song is supposed to be a love song so I thought it would be good to portray all kinds of relationships that teenagers have. All the actors did a great job!

 Finished editing,

So far we have finished editing our music video.

update 7

Good news, we managed to retrieve our lost footage. Now all we have to do is finish editing since our deadline is on Monday (today is thursday).
Another thing we have to do is figure out how we're going to do the chorus. We're still sticking with the ' All Of The Lights' idea with the lyrics on the screen, although we might use random backgrounds (clouds, brick wall) instead of a plain one.

Update 6

So far we have started editing some footage. However, we have encountered an issue with the macbook. We unexpectedly lost some of our work while we were editing, so now we have no choice but to do it again. We are now trying to edit and film as we go along as we still have two scenes we have to film. One scene involves a lesbian couple arguing, the other sequence involves the main singer, Memmunatu, walking and singing along.

Filming update 5

So far we managed to film another scene which is the second verse where a girl is in the park, and is talking (on the phone) to her boyfriend. We managed to get a range of different shots from different angles and shots. We also shot a studio scene where we see the conversation from the boyfriend's point of view. We also shot a scene with him looking at naked women on his laptop in a dark room. We thought this would highlight his disinterest in her and show that he is not bothered.

Filming update 4

So far we have filmed a few scenes of Makeda's part in the music video. We filmed the scened where a girl is getting dugs off of some drug dealers and at some point we see her going crazy, as if she is possessed. We also attempted to film one of our scenes in Myatts field park, however, it was a disaster so we decide to continue filming this scene on Thursday.

Update 3

Bunmi filmed a scene last tuesday, It was her part of the music video where there is a couple having an argument in the street. None of us other members of the group were present during the filming of this particular scene. We uploaded the clip on the Mac, and decided that it was way too short so now we're planning on re-shooting the whole thing possibly with different actors.
